How to Use Compression to Even Out the Dynamic Range of Your Audio
Compression is a tool used to even out the dynamic range of audio recordings, which refers to the difference between the loudest and quietest parts of an audio signal. Dynamic range is usually measured in decibels (dB) and is used to quantify the range of volume levels in an audio recording.
